10 a.m.-8 p.m. – The Bay School Community Arts Center on Main Street will keep its doors open until 8 p.m. for a viewing of the “Art Speaks on the Bay” statewide juried art show. A wine tasting by Caret Cellars will also be available. *6:00 and 7:30 p.m. – Join Art Speaks Gallery coordinator, Saraya Cheney, for an exploration of contemporary art in Virginia.

Local Merchants on Main Street will keep their doors open late for your convenience.

7-10 a.m.  – Registration/Check-in open (Inside THMS)

6:30-8:30 a.m.Coffee and pick-up breakfast items will be on sale at the registration area (inside THMS)

8 a.m.All Routes Open; SAG available; Rest Stops open

9 a.m.-1 p.m. – Farmer’s Market – located on the Court Green – Fresh veggies, breads, muffins, soup, granola, and more – grown and made in Mathews!

9 a.m.-4 p.m. – WATER TAXI available from Williams Wharf (Route 614) to Mill Lane Road and back. It can carry up to 6 passengers and their bikes at a time.  The fee (taken at the boat) is $2 per trip per person – CASH ONLY please.  It is a VERY NICE alternative to Route 14!!!

**Please note: Lunch time is the taxi’s busiest time…you may want to plan to take it earlier or later in the day.

9 a.m.-4 p.m. – Chesapeake Bay Paddling Company will be at Williams Wharf (Lunch site) offering “sea trials” for anyone interested in trying out a kayak or paddle board, as well as conducting kayak rolling demos every two hours (times announced on site).

10 a.m.-4 p.m. – 7th ANNUAL “ART deTOUR” – The artists of the Art deTour will gather on Main Street around The Bay School Community Arts Center to exhibit and sell their fine art and handcrafted works. Between 1 and 4 p.m., the public is welcome to enjoy a wine tasting by Caret Cellars.

Lunch is on your own (see Local Eats) OR you can pre-order a Box Lunch.

10:30 a.m. -3:00 p.m. – Box Lunch by Creekside Catering; pick up at Williams Wharf (pre-registration recommended; limited walk ups taken first come, first served) located on Route 614, Williams Wharf Road – $12 – Menu Includes:
Option 1 – Southwestern Chicken Wrap with Grilled Chicken, Mixed Greens, Black Bean Corn Salsa, Cheese and Mexi-Ranch dressing,
Option 2 – BBQ Plate with Pork BBQ, cole slaw, potato salad, and a roll,
Option 3 – Chicken Salad Sandwich with all white meat Chicken Salad on a Croissant, or
Option 4 – Asian Salad with Mixed Greens, cabbage, carrots, almonds, wonton strips, and Asian Dressing (Vegetarian OR grilled chicken can be added on-site)
All served with Chips, Fruit, Cookie, and Beverage

11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. – Chair Massage available at Williams Wharf – $15 for 15 minutes (pay on site)

2:30-4 p.m. – Chair Massage available at THMS – $15 for 15 minutes (pay on site)

1 p.m.- 5 p.m. – Tour dessert at THMS, ride headquarters. *Free for all Registered Full Tour cyclists

4-5 p.m. – Ride Recovery Yoga at THMS – FREE to all participants; bring a yoga mat or towel – This will be outside in front of the school weather permitting (if bad weather, it will be inside in the gym)

5 p.m. – All Routes Close and Services End


  2. Fresh seafood and other options by Creekside Catering.  Menu TBA –  Available for purchase on site – this company takes credit cards.
  3. Beer, Wine and soft drinks by the Mathews Visitor Center – Cash only please
  4. Entertainment/Dancing provided by Lynda Smith & 7th
  5.  Shuttle available to/from THMS (no drinks permitted on the bus)

Cyclists are welcome and encouraged to ride on Sunday!! Signage will remain in place until 2:00 p.m.; SAG and rest stops not available.

9-10 a.m. – East River History Tour by Mathews Deadrise Charters – $35 per person, max 6 passengers – Tour the East River’s historic homes and waterfront while enjoying a complimentary cup of premium coffee – To register, contact Capt. Trey at 804.815-6132 or

10 a.m. AND 2 p.m. – Guided Kayak Tour to New Point Lighthouse by the Chesapeake Bay Paddling Company – $40 per person, max 4 people – 2-2.5 hours – To register, contact Jim Warwick at 703-283-0619,, or visit his booth at registration on Friday and Williams Wharf on Saturday.
